A 16-year-old boy has been charged by police investigating five linked acid attacks across north London.

The teenager is charged with 15 offences including grievous bodily harm and possession of an item to discharge a noxious substance, the Met Police said.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Stratford Youth Court on Monday.

A second teenager, 15, was also arrested on Friday on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and robbery. He has been released on bail until a date in early August.

It comes after five separate moped-riding victims were targeted in a 90-minute acid attack spree across Hackney and Islington on Thursday night. One of the victims was left with life-changing injuries.

The investigation into the five attacks remains on-going.

Any witnesses, anyone with information or in possession of footage of these incidents should contact police via 101 or via Twitter @MetCC.
