It was a sultry summer night for some hot dance moves.

An estimated 7,000 partiers, mostly twenty-somethings, swarmed into Harris Park Saturday night for the finale of the annual Electronic Dance Music (EDM) event known as the BlockParty.

Organizer Mike Manuel said the unusually warm and dry late summer helped draw a big crowd and kept them comfortable – since skimpy and/or outrageous fashion is a tradition at EMD events.

“You can see that nature has been on our side,” said Manuel.

Manuel said there haven’t been any serious security problems at the festival.

It was the second year the event has been held in Harris Park and Manuel said the new site seems to be successful.

American producer and DJ Diplo was the closing act Friday, while the Toronto duo Zeds Dead headlines Saturday night.
