Anishinabeck police are looking for a suspect after a man swung a two-foot machete at officers

Police at Kettle and Stony Point are searching for a suspect after officers were confronted by a man with a machete Saturday.

The Anishinabeck Police Service said in a news release officers were called to a report of a domestic dispute on Lake Road at the Kettle and Stony Point First Nation, where they located a suspect in the back of the residence.

They say the man was yelling at the officer while swinging a two-foot-long machete. Police said the suspect dropped the machete and fled after a brief standoff.

The Anishinabeck Police Service, with assistance from the OPP canine and emergency response units, searched the area but the suspect wasn’t found.

Police said the investigation continues.
