There are people in the White House who want to “eject” Donald Trump as President and are working against him, former PR chief Anthony Scaramucci has revealed.

In his first interview since being sacked after just 10 days in office, Mr Scaramucci warned that there were “elements” in Washington that were against Mr Trump.

And he said the President would need to hire “more loyalists” in order to follow through his plans.

According to the BBC, he said: “What happens in Washington… is the president is not a representative of the political establishment class, so for whatever reason the people have made a decision that they want to eject him.

“I think there are elements inside of Washington, also inclusive in the White House, that are not necessarily abetting the president’s interests or his agenda.”

When asked to identify who he was referring to, Mr Scaramucci just said he had “named some names”.

The disgraced former director of communications was sacked after a phone call of him rudely attacking his then-colleagues was reported in The New Yorker.

During the conversation with reporter Ryan Lizza he slammed former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and Chief Strategist Steve Bannon in an expletive-laden rant.

Speaking about the call, Mr Scaramucci said he believed his comments would be taken off the record.

But he added that he has “paid the consequences for that conversation”.
