Film director Barry Jenkins spoke to Sky News on the ‘progress’ of the industry as he prepares to release his next film.

The 40-year-old says he wrote ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ in 10 weeks whereas Moonlight was written in days.

When asked about industry ‘diversity’, he responded by saying that its a ‘journey not a destination’.

He added: “You have to keep checking in, three years…five years from now to see if the progress we feel we see in the present day has taken hold.”
