Great Britain’s women won silver in the 4x400m relay to secure the nation’s fifth medal of the World Championships on the closing night in London.

Zoey Clark, Laviai Nielsen, Eilidh Doyle and Emily Diamond ran home in three minutes and 25 seconds, 0.41 seconds ahead of Poland’s quartet.

United States won gold, finishing just under six seconds faster than the Brits for their 29th medal this week.

The Jamaican team did not finish after Anneisha McLaughlin-Whilby pulled up.

On Saturday night, Jamaica’s eight-time Olympic champion Usain Bolt also pulled up with an injury, in the final straight of the men’s 4x100m relay, won by Great Britain.

“Sigh!!!! Prayers be Team Jamaica,” Bolt tweeted following Sunday’s race.
