Britain’s Cockroft wins T34 100m gold

Britain’s Hannah Cockroft has won gold in the T34 100m at the World Para-athletics Championships in London’s Olympic Stadium.

Cockroft, a triple gold medallist at Rio 2016 Paralympics, claimed the victory in a world record time, finishing in 17.18 seconds.

Fellow Briton Kare Adenegan claimed silver and Carly Tait came fifth.

Cockroft can add further gold medals in the 400m and 800m.
