British rowers set new world record for Atlantic crossing

Three British women, one of whom has incurable cancer, have smashed the world record for rowing across the Atlantic.

Kat Cordiner, Abby Johnston and Charlotte Irving arrived in Antigua after a 3,000-mile crossing from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean, completed in 42 days, seven hours and 17 minutes – knocking seven days off the female trio record in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.
