City University and Evening Standard offer chance to be an investigative journalist

The Evening Standard and City, University of London are creating an opportunity for a student to get into investigative journalism.

The postgraduate journalism scholarship includes a one-year masters degree followed by a year of paid on-the-job training at the Standard.

Professor Heather Brooke, pathway leader for the MA in Investigative Journalism at City University, said: “I’m delighted we can offer this fantastic scholarship to a student of merit who needs financial help.” The scholarship is worth £10,000 in fees — sponsored by Quadrature Capital — plus £2,500 in  living expenses contributed by City.

The successful candidate will receive paid work experience during the course  before becoming a paid trainee at the Standard and the Independent.
