Coleen Rooney has broken her silence over her marriage to Wayne in a Tweet hitting out at “so-called friends” who suggested she had forgiven her husband.

The football star’s wife has been thrust into the limelight again after it emerged Rooney was pulled over for drink driving whilst in a car with another woman.

But Coleen, who is pregnant with the couple’s fourth child, has dismissed reports that she had forgiven her husband for the alleged incident.

In a series of tweets, she said she would like to know the sources of the stories, writing: “Would love to meet all these so called friends of mine who know me so well.”

She later added: “I was being sarcastic towards all these great sources the press have…who I have probably never met in my life! I have the best friends.”

Coleen’s comments came after it was reported she told friends her and her husband had been “through thick and thin together since they were teenagers” and was determined to keep her family together.

On Wednesday, Everton striker Rooney was pictured proudly wearing his wedding ring when he arrived at training.

But he has reportedly told friends he fears his marriage is over after officer worker Laura Simpson revealed to the media that she and Wayne had “kissed and cuddled” in the hours before he was pulled over.

The pair were in Ms Simpson’s Beetle when Rooney was arrested for drink driving in the early hours of Friday morning.

After hitting out at speculation surrounding her marriage, Coleen shared a picture of the Rooney’s seven-year-old son Kai on his first day of new school.

She wrote that she was “bursting with pride.”

Earlier in the week she also posted an image of her younger son four-year-old Klay – also dressed in his new uniform – writing: “Big school for my gorgeous Klay!!”

After news broke that Wayne had been with another woman at the time of his arrest, Coleen posted a message asking photographers to “have respect and stop following me with my three children in the car”, adding: “It’s dangerous and I’ve had enough.”

Rooney, 31, was charged with drink driving. He is due to appear at Stockport Magistrates’ Court on September 18.
