An elderly tourist has not been seen since she joined a Northern line Tube train and the doors shut before her family could board.

Hoyeon Jang, 75, from South Korea, was last seen when she boarded the High Barnet-bound service at Embankment.

The doors closed before her husband and son had a chance to board, leaving them on the platform.

They signalled for her to leave the train at Charing Cross and wait for them before it departed at about 5pm on Thursday.

She was reported missing that evening and has not been seen since.

The family had been visiting relatives in the capital, police have said.

Hoyeon, who does not speak English and is not in possession of a phone or cash, is described as 4ft 11ins tall with short black hair.

She was last seen wearing a yellow jacket and blue trainers.

Concern is growing for her wellbeing and officers are urging anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact them on 101 or @MetCC.
