An alleged knifeman was tasered by police after a stabbing outside a parade of shops in south London.

Emergency services raced to the scene after a man was attacked and knifed repeatedly in Eltham on Friday night.

Scotland Yard said police and paramedics were called to reports of a stabbing in Well Hall Parade shortly before 8pm.

They found a man suffering from stab injuries and he was rushed to hospital. His condition is not yet known.

His suspected attacker was arrested on suspicion of GBH in Dunvegan Road.

A Met spokesman told the Standard he was tasered during the arrest and has also been taken to hospital.

He said: “Crime scenes remain in place in the area. Officers from Greenwich investigate. Enquiries continue.”
