Passengers are facing major disruption at one of London’s busiest transport hubs after a person was struck and killed by a train.

Euston station was brought to a standstill as emergency services dealt with the incident at Bletchley, near Milton Keynes on Friday afternoon.

All lines were blocked from about 2.30pm, affecting London Midland and Virgin Trains services running into and out of the station.

Some lines began to reopen at about 4.30pm but disruption was expected to last until at least 7pm.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “BTP was called to the Bletchley area at 2.34pm today following reports that a person had been struck by a train.

“Officers attended along with the ambulance service and sadly a person was found to have died.

“We are working to identify the person and inform their next of kin.

“At this stage the incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
