Sky News can reveal that a Chinese-owned company is helping to make the RAF’s top secret, new generation of F35 warplanes.

According to Ministry of Defence publicity material, the printed circuit boards control the plane’s core capabilities – including its engines, fuel and navigation systems.

Shenzhen Fastprint – a company based in China and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange – bought Exception PCB in 2013.

A Ministry of Defence spokesperson said: “Exception PCB produces bare circuit boards and as a result there are no risks associated with their product in the F-35 aircraft supply chain.”
