Thousands of members of the Hazara community have fled Afghanistan following the country’s takeover by the Taliban.

The Shia minority group have historically been persecuted by the Sunni Taliban and Islamic State.

But the country’s new rulers said they would afford them equal status when they took control of Kabul in the summer.

However, those promises appear to be hollow with members of the Hazara who worked with western forces saying they are being hunted down by Taliban fighters.
