Four men are facing charges of cannibalism after one allegedly told police he is fed up with eating human flesh.

The man reportedly walked into the police station and told officers he was “tired of eating human flesh” before presenting them with a human leg and hand.

The police then searched a house nearby in the rural KwaZulu-Natal area of South Africa where more human remains were allegedly found.

The men, thought to be aged between 22 and 32 years old, were arrested on Monday and may be be part of a bigger syndicate.

A police spokesman told the BBC that the men had allegedly killed a woman, cut her into pieces and eaten parts of her body.

They are now urging people whose relatives have gone missing in the Estcourt area to come forward.

Forensic experts are investigating the remains to establish whether the body parts belong to one or several victims.

The four men appeared in Estcourt Magistrate’s court, about 110 miles from Durban, and are facing charges of murder and conspiracy to murder.
