A new mother today described how landlords moved her into a “breeze-block shed” weeks after giving birth to her daughter.

Sadaf, 35, has been nursing her three-month-old daughter in the shed, in the back garden of a terraced house.

She moved into the property four months ago and lived in the lounge, which had been converted into a bedroom.

But when her baby arrived, she says the friends she is subletting from asked her to move into the breeze-block shed, which has no running water.

Sadaf, who has been paying £350 a month, said: “I found this place through a friend and we were sharing the front room.

“After a month they told me to move to the shed. It is disturbing my baby.”

A Newham enforcement officer called it “a potential fire risk” that would be “colder than a fridge” in winter.

The two landlords were not at the property when the council visited. Sadaf is now leaving the property.
