Charges have been dropped against two London police officers in the 2016 custody injury of a man, a police union official says.
Ontario’s police watchdog announced charges in May against Const. Theresa Clayton and Const. Jeff Lake in the June 16, 2016, arrest that injured 40-year-old Robbie Camick.
Clayton was charged with assault causing bodily harm, while Lake was charged with assault in the incident at an apartment building on Highland Avenue.
Both officers remained on the job following the charges.
Rick Robson, the administrator for the London Police Association, took to Twitter Tuesday to announce the crown has dropped the charges.
Crown withdraws charges against both @lpsmediaoffice officers. No SIU media release. Weird. https://t.co/dIFjk05vT0
