London police have identified a 23-year-old London man as a suspect in the Wavell Street shooting that rattled residents at an east London housing complex earlier this week.

An arrest warrant was issued Friday for Ayanle Aden, who is wanted in connection with nearly a dozen offences, including discharging a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of a loaded firearm, and possession of a restricted firearm without a licence, plus possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

“Aden is to be considered dangerous and should not be approached,” police said in a media release Friday evening.

Police were called to 2010 Wavell St. on Tuesday evening for reports of multiple gunshots. The shots came after an altercation between two men, police said.

Two vehicles were left with what looked to be bullet holes and neighbours said children often play in the area. Officers recovered a gun at the scene.

On Wednesday, two suspect descriptions were released.

Anyone with information about Aden’s whereabouts is urged to call London Police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
