A London man is charged with impaired driving after a vehicle struck a stop sign and a utility pole northeast of Sarnia this weekend

A car travelling on Townsend Line in Lambton Shores crashed around 4 p.m. Sunday, Lambton OPP said.

Nobody was injured.

The driver was arrested and taken to the OPP’s Petrolia detachment, where a breath test showed he had nearly three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system, police said.

A London man, 71, is charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood. He’s scheduled to appear in a Sarnia court on Sept. 11.
