Londoner Marc Lefebvre owns a share of the lead heading into the final round of the Investors Group Ontario men’s amateur championship at Ambassador Golf Club in Windsor.
The West Haven player fired a two-under 69 Thursday for an eight-under 205 total, tied with Meadowbrook golf club’s Shyamal Nagindas on a jam-packed leaderboard.
There are 10 golfers at five-under or better.
Lefebvre posted four birdies on eight holes in the middle of his round to take the outright lead, but gave one back with a bogey on No. 17.
In Tuesday’s opening round, he aced the fifth hole en route to a four-under 67.
The Ontario Am was first contested in 1923 and past champs include Mike Weir (1990, ’92), Listowel’s Corey Conners (2010) and nine-time winner Gary Cowan. This is the first time it has been held at the Ambassador club.
