Manor Park murder: Probe launched after man stabbed to death in east London

A murder probe has been launched after a man was stabbed to death in east London.

Police and paramedics were scrambled to Sherrard Road in Manor Park on Sunday afternoon.

Medics fought to save the victim, aged in his late 20s, but he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 2.50pm. 

Ten minutes later, a 39-year-old man presented himself at an east London police station suffering stab wounds to his leg.

He was rushed to hospital after being given first aid by police officers, and was later arrested on suspicion of murder.

He was discharged from hospital and remained in custody on Monday morning.

The victim is yet to be formally identified, Scotland Yard has said.

Officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) are investigating.
