Britain’s Mo Farah prepared for the World Championships with victory in the 3,000m at the Anniversary Games at London Stadium.
Farah, who won in seven minutes 35.15 seconds, will defend his 5,000m and 10,000m world titles at the same venue next month.
Laura Muir came second in the women’s mile, and missed out on breaking Zola Budd’s 32-year-old British record by six hundredths of a second.
The Scot faded to finish in 4:18.03.
Farah, 34, stressed this week that he had “never failed a blood test” following the release of hacked documents which appear to show his test results once caused suspicion.
And he once again defended his record, telling BBC Sport: “I love London, there’s no place like home. I have to stay focused the next three weeks.
“Other things don’t distract me. I’m only in control of my legs. Never will I fail a test.
“I run year after year with joy and there’s not much more you can do. I love being on the podium, hearing the anthem and making people proud to be British.”
More to follow.
