NASA scientists will face what has been called “seven minutes of terror” as the latest unmanned mission to Mars attempts a perilous landing on the planet’s surface.
If successful, the data recovered could give a new insight into what the red planet is made of and move us closer to discovering the secrets of any previous life on Mars.
Just 40% of missions to the red planet have safely made it through the thin atmosphere but NASA hopes InSight can do it.
