The Play: Lucky Stiff by Lynn Ahrens is based on 1983 novel The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo by Michael Butterworth. It’s described by producers as “an offbeat musical farce packed with mistaken identities, millions in diamonds, and a wheelchair-bound corpse wearing sunglasses that will leave you dying of laughter.” It must be among a very few stage works that include a part for a corpse. Playing the “body of Tony Hendon” is Robert Bridel.

The Show: Presented by Huron Country Playhouse, directed and choreographed by David Connolly.

The Quote: “Lucky Stiff is perfect summer theatre fare. With its winning cast of silly characters, outrageous storyline, and infectious music, audiences immediately get caught up in the fun.”

— Alex Mustakas, Drayton Entertainment Artistic Director
