Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, with the legislature on hiatus for the summer, is making a swing through Southwestern Ontario on Thursday.

The Liberal leader over the noon hour will visit an emergency shelter for women in St. Thomas, Women’s Place Elgin, followed by a journey down the Highway 401 to Chatham-Kent.

In Chatham, Wynne will visit the Chatham-Kent Museum and a tomato-farming operation, Truly Green Farms, as she wraps up her swing through the region.

Ontarians are heading into an election year, with the next vote due by June 2018.

In the 10-riding London region, the Liberals hold one seat, the New Democrats two and the Progressive Conservatives seven.

MPPs return to Queen’s Park for a new session in mid-September.
