The parents of a trainee accountant who died after taking a single ecstasy pill at a music festival have released a moving video in tribute to their “cheeky, mischievous, adventurous and caring” daughter.

The family of Amy Vigus, 20, raised thousands for the medics who fought to save their “beautiful” daughter’s life after she took party drug MDMA in “a moment of madness.”

Amy died in hospital two days after attending last weekend’s Elrow Town festival at the Olympic Park in Stratford, east London

Her parents Kervin, 49, and Karen, 51, created a four-minute tribute film, which begs other young people to “stop and think” before experimenting with drugs. The video has been watched almost a million times.

The devastated couple described how Amy’s parents rushed her to hospital when she collapsed after arriving home in Colchester on Saturday night.

The voiceover says: “Our Amy fell into a coma. She lay there, hair in, eyelashes on, glitter in her hair, but no smile on her face.

“The corridors of Colchester General Hospital echoed with the cries and screams of her family members.

“In that moment of madness when she took an unknown substance our Amy had no idea it would have led to this. “She will not be celebrating Christmas anymore, she will not be celebrating her 21st birthday. She will never know the pain she has caused.

“The next time you’re in that moment, please, stop and think about our Amy and the consequences of her mistake on herself and her family she left behind.”

The family has set up a crowd-funding campaign to raise money for Colchester Hospital in gratitude for their “amazing care.”

It smashed its £500 target within hours and has now raised more than £2,000. To donate, visit
