A multi-faith group in London is condemning an anti-Islam rally planned for the city Saturday.

“As faith leaders in this community, we are deeply horrified and saddened that a gathering of white supremacists is being planned,” a statement from the Centre for Jewish-Catholic-Muslim Learning released Thursday said.

Pegida Canada, which insists it is not white supremacist but pro-Western values, has a rally planned for Saturday at noon outside city hall.

The planned rally has prompted reaction from anti-racism activists in the city, and an official rejection of the rally’s ideology from city council.

The multi-faith centre at King’s University College joined the fray with a Thursday statement calling for prayer and peace.

“We stand together today . . . to strongly condemn racism in all forms,” the centre said.
