A brand new photography exhibition celebrating 50 years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality in the UK has launched this week in London.

The exhibition, called ‘Love Happens Here’, has been hosted by the Photographers’ Gallery at an off-site location at City Hall.

Photos on display recognise the historic struggle of the LGBT+ movement and show the development of gay rights to where we are today.

The exhibition features work from Ian David Baker, a former art editor for various Gay magazines in the 1980’s.

Other artists include Emily Rose England, Kate Elliott and Tania Olive, whose portraits cover topics ever-present within the Pride Festival: gender, sexual identity and global politics.

The exhibition runs from July 5 – 28.
