Rights crusader honoured for fight against trafficking

A London women’s rights advocate is being honoured for her work to fight human trafficking in Canada.

Megan Walker, director of London Abused Women’s Centre, is being recognized by the Joy Smith Foundation at the organization’s fall gala.

There are a half-dozen honourees, including country musician Paul Brandt, a Montreal police detective and a reformed trafficker.

Tickets for the Nov. 26 event, held at the Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg, are available at joysmithfoundation.com.
