Police have identified a motorcyclist killed in a five-vehicle crash on Highway 401 southwest of Woodstock.

A motorcycle travelling west on the 401, just west of Foldens Line, collided with a car stopped in the middle lane, Friday at 5:28 p.m. Oxford OPP said.

The crash caused three other vehicles to be rear-ended, police said.

The motorcycle driver, Sandra Mione-Kent, 64, was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. She lived in the Niagara-area town of Beamsville.

The drivers of the other vehicles involved had minor injuries. The collision remains under investigation.

Two hours later, a 46-year-old Ingersoll man died following a collision between his motorcycle and a van in Woodstock at 7:25 p.m.

It has been a deadly summer for motorcyclists on London-area roads. Six motorcyclists have died in crashes across the region in the past two months.
