A 13-year-old boy has been arrested after a fellow pupil at his west London school died from a severe allergic reaction.

The student, also 13, suffered the allergic reaction and became extremely unwell at William Perkin C of E High School in Greenford on June 28.

He was rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition but died over a week later on July 9, with his parents by his side.

Police launched an immediate investigation into an apparent incident which had led to the boy coming into contact with the allergen.

A pupil at the school was arrested later on June 28 and questioned over the incident. He has now been bailed to a date in late July.

The incident has been passed from the local borough to the Homicide and Major Crime Command who are currently investigating.

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact police on 020 8785 8244 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
