Home Secretary Suella Braverman has told Sophy Ridge On Sunday “the situation is improving” in Dover but companies are under “acute pressure”.
The port has seen a backlog that left passengers stranded for up to 14 hours.
Ms Braverman asks people to be “patient” while the ferry companies work through the backlog but also insisted that Brexit is not to blame for the delays.
“I don’t think that’s fair to say it has been an adverse effect of Brexit,” she added.
