A 21-year-old Strathroy man lost his licence for a week after police clocked his car going more than 80 km/h over the speed limit.

Strathroy-Caradoc police said an officer with a radar unit measured the vehicle travelling 132 km/h in a 50 km/h zone, on Carroll Street, on Friday.

“That is 82 km/h over the speed limit, folks,” the police department’s community services officer Mark Thruss said in a statement.

The man was charged with racing, and his licence suspended for seven days. He is set to appear in court in October.
