UberEATS is hitting the streets of London.
The food-delivery service, modeled after the popular ridesharing app Uber, launched Wednesday, offering to bring dishes from more than 60 restaurants straight to diners’ doorsteps.
London restaurants including Hopscotch, Qdoba Mexican Grill and Villa Cornelia are participating in UberEATS’ local rollout. The mobile app is available for Apple or Android smartphones.
The food-summoning app requires users to pick a delivery location, place their order and track the food all the way to their doors.
After a long political battle, city council has allowed California-based Uber to operate as a licensed ride-sharing firm in London, much to the frustration of traditional taxi drivers.
