The thought alone of feeling a spider crawl down your arm would be enough to make many people squirm.

The idea of it happening to you live on television, meanwhile, would fill almost all of us with a sense of horror.

Not so for reporter Shannon Murray, who endured a spider scuttling along her arm with admirable professionalism.

US news broadcaster Fox 4 News shared the video of the 8-legged creature on her left shoulder while she was reporting on worker’s protesting at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

The arachnid took its chance of fame by making its way down unsuspecting reporter’s arm.

“The itsy bitsy spider crawled down the reporter’s arm,” the station said.

Horrified viewers commenting on the Facebook post praised the TV anchor’s nerves of steel saying they would have been “fired” for using potty words.

One wrote: “Props to this woman. I would have lost it, live on tv. And then became a meme.”

Another commented: “Had it been me, there would be a news segment of me running and getting hit by one of the vehicles driving by… I may be alive or dead.”

“I would’ve been FIRED on the spot due to a lot of potty words (bleeping) and stripping in the middle of the street…,” a third said.

But the reporter later revealed she was completely oblivious of the spider until a viewer pointed it out.

“For those asking, YES I felt it! But I had no idea it was a spider until a VIEWER let me know on Facebook!” Murray wrote in a response to the video.

The spider’s five minutes of fame was viewed nearly 300,000 times as commentators celebrated the reporter for not “freaking out”.
