Sky News will be joining scientists from the Nekton mission as they explore Aldabra – one of the world’s largest and most remote coral atolls – 600 miles south-west of the Seychelles.
The boat – Ocean Zephyr – will be leaving from Bremerhaven in Germany travelling through the Mediterranean Sea before going through the Suez Canal and the Red Sea until it reaches the remote island of Aldabra in the Seychelles.
From there, submarines on board will attempt to dive to a depth of 300 meters – the equivalent of the Eiffel Tower.
Our science correspondent Thomas Moore has more.
